Hey, I'm Ana
I work as a project manager, a parent, and an expat in Madrid, Spain.
A few years ago, I moved here with my family, and what began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Spain wasn't part of the long-range plan. Like many expat moves, it began as a work opportunity and soon grew into something much larger.
The first months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, and raised expectations. Everyday tasks felt tougher than anticipated.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning on the fly. Yet gradually, habits took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt secure.
Why I Built VioletGaleWave
Most online guidance was either relocation advice at a corporate level or superficial tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site exists to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Spain.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Hands-on insights from living in Spain
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever a real change occurs
This site ISN'T:
- Not a tourism board resource
- Not a paid-review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Spain goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains helpful, I will continue to record what we find.
If you have questions about family life in Madrid or anywhere in Spain, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
